Here you see someone focused and working hard with care and love, clarity and determination with skilled effort.
The six pentacles on the wall symbolise past success and the one on the ground and the one that is being worked on symbolise the current situation.
Pentacles in the Tarot represent money, material possessions and resources and practical matters.
If there is an important goal in sight and you’re willing to work hard to achieve it, there will be reward with recognition and respect and success in this endeavour. Work your skills to a high level and ensure you are focused on your purpose. This is a chance to build on previous success and may be an ideal time to gain additional skills by pursuing extra study or perhaps attend some workshops to refine your skills and learn some new ones.
If you are in a relationship, it’s the reminder that it takes work and you need to be willing to put in the work with a mature attitude.
This card is less about focusing on money and more about focusing on skills and how to refine them. Eight is a powerful number and is even favoured by the Chinese in business for financial enterprises. It is also the number of inner strength and personal power.
There is a message here that work isn’t meant to be tedious, it’s meant to be a place to complete yourself.
It is reminding you that work isn’t just something to fill your pockets with money and to fill your time ― it is something that is meant to contribute to your soul, to fulfil your purpose and make you whole.
If you don’t enjoy the work you are doing now, perhaps it’s time to start looking for work that you do enjoy.
There is a fantastic piece of writing from 1923 ‘The Prophet’ by Kahlil Gibran… His words really cut through deep to the soul on the subject of work…
"And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.
For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man's hunger.
And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distils a poison in the wine.
And if you sing though as angels, and love not the singing, you muffle man's ears to the voices of the day and the voices of the night."
Intense, but oh so true.
By finding work you love you will create work that will be a labour of love. It doesn’t mean it will be easy, you will still need to work hard. But it will be far more rewarding to be working hard in a job that actually brings you joy, and the fruits of your labour will taste that much sweeter.
If it’s not possible to leap into another job right now, think about the things you love doing and you may even attend workshops etc. or do something small each day to slowly bring you closer to what brings you joy and what lights you up.
Wishing you a week filled with joy.
