The Moon signifies the importance of listening to your dreams in order to find peace with your inner world. The Moon is calling you to face your fears, because those fears are preventing you from achieving or doing something. The Moon is a card for dreams, imagination, psychic forces and intuition. (Also can be a card for illusion and deception suggesting that things may not be as they seem.)
This is an interesting card to come through today. I was on a road trip back to Melbourne today and on the drive I was listening to audiobook Light is the New Black by Rebecca Campbell. In this book she talks of her own journey and how she let fear and the fact that she wasn’t sure of her exact purpose prevent her from stepping into her soul calling by not taking the small steps forward daily by doing the things that lit-up and called to her soul. This was so relatable on so many levels. As I was shuffling the cards for this weekly Tarot, six different cards popped out one after the other, and as I turned each over I realised I had already written about each of them. Then came The Moon.
In this card you can see a dog and wolf that represent the tamed and wild aspects of our mind. These represent our fears and lower nature. A path leads between two towers and over a hill. The challenge is to follow the path without being overcome by fears. You can see a Crayfish, which symbolises the early stages of conscious unfolding.
This card is showing you your shadow self and is calling you to acknowledge this side. I really appreciate it when the shadow is revealed because there is so much growth and wisdom to be found there. The Moon suggests that you could be projecting fears into your present and/or future, based on past experiences. These have created blocks that need to be worked through. This is a time to have a de-clutter of your negative and unsupportive memories to help you move forward into a positive future. A time for deep soul work. The lessons you have learned will be valuable on your journey – these are the things that give us perspective and wisdom.
This card will often pop up if you are unsure of / or questioning your path or purpose.
In the dark we only have our inner light to guide us. We may not be exactly sure where the path leads, but keep moving forward and trust that by shining your inner light it will illuminate the way, and will not lead you astray. This card is reminding us that everything we need we already have within us. We don’t need the external to validate or support us. By shining bright we will light our own way.
A great quote from the book Light is the New Black - “You have an inner light within you that is craving to be shared by those around you, by the world at large – but mostly by you. When you share your unique light, bit by bit, you light up the lives of those around you. And, one by one, you inspire them to light up too. It’s a chain reaction. And before long, the whole world lights up. Your light is contagious.”
I think the six cards came through initially as a reminder of how far I have come and the knowledge gained along the way. It’s important to reflect on how much you have achieved and to not be so hard on yourself.
Shine sisters, shine. The world needs your light.
